“Yes, He did it again!” claimed Therese Cherestal, 65 years old, after her second cataract surgery.
“When I started to lose my sight, I was very sad because I became dependent on my children for all the little everyday things. So I started losing lots of weight until I became the shadow of myself,” said Therese. “My kids saw my distress but could not do anything because there is no eye doctor in the village, and I knew that we couldn’t afford to go to the hospital,” she continued.
Therese remembered her journey. She has never been financially rich, but as far as she remembers God has always allowed her to be surrounded by people she loves and who love her in return. This love gave her the courage to believe that God will never forsake her. So she stayed in prayer. And what was to happen happened. Thanks to the support of many of you for the Water For Life Mobile Clinic Program, this poor lady was diagnosed with cataracts and scheduled for surgery (the right eye was done last May 29, 2018, and the left eye in January 2019).
Being able to see again has brought her so much joy that it is with tears that Bertine (Therese’s daughter) shared her gratitude toward those who helped to make her mother laugh again.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”. Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
