So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
As a hard-working mom, Elouse always did everything she could to meet the needs of her family. Her faith in Jesus Christ always allowed her to overcome the countless trials that littered her path.
After several years of savings, she bought a piece of land and slowly built a roof over her children’s heads. Despite all the difficulties associated with being a single mother, Elouse had created a stable environment for her daughters to grow up in, until Hurricane Matthew came last fall and destroyed her small world.
Eighty per-cent of her house was turned into debris, and she resolved to relocate to a friend’s house with her family.
Her friend was willing, but the house of refuge was already too small for the family who lived there, let alone a second family! Before long, conflicts began to arise, forcing Elouse and her girls to find themselves in a makeshift “house” constructed of rusted tin and old plywood.
Nerlande (13), Nadia (11), Dada (8), and little Saïda (4), found it difficult especially when it was raining hard as their roof leaked more than it protected them.
Fortunately, they found hope in God’s promises. Led by their mother, the four girls did not allow themselves to fall into despair but continued to pray with faith knowing God would soon answer.
And He did! Through you, generous donors, God has sent help for this family…
Gladly the 4 sisters spent their summer vacation helping to rebuild their new home. The worksite looked agreeably like a church where the children’s praises embodied a spirit of joy and adoration as they sang,
“On my delivery day, I shall go on the mountain to praise God.”
“Jesus is everything for me, what is He for you?”
You have made this once-impossible day a reality for Elouse and her four beautiful girls.
