On August 14, at 8:30 am a 7.2 earthquake happened in Haiti, on the north side of its southern peninsula. There is so much devastation, affecting all the villages, towns, and cities all around that area . So although it has not affected a metropolis of millions, it has immediate impact for MANY. Most people in this area slept under the stars last night, even those whose houses are still standing, fearful for aftershocks that continue.
Water For Life staff helped to remove victims from their collapsed houses and took truck loads of water for people’s use to the city of Les Cayes which is very close to us.
This area hit is exactly where Category 4 Hurricane Matthew passed through almost 5 years ago.
